Interview in London Le Petit Journal (July 2024) – here

With his eternal teenage looks and his custom-made Toile de Jouy suit, ArchiPol is a refreshing and exciting addition to the world of French chanson.

If you think, by looking at him, that he’s a dull wallflower, wait until you hear his music. ArchiPol is a rare singer-songwriter that can dissect human nature in a tender, biting and mocking tone.

Having studied at the Royal of College of Music in London, ArchiPol not only has a solid musical background but just as interesting is his ability to deploy, at will, a very British delivery – cool, funny, sarcastic and deadpan (all at the same time!).

Winner of both the Golden Pen and Audience Awards at the 2025 edition of the Brassens Competition as well as 2nd Prize and Radio Alpa Prize of the 2024 edition of Le Mans Pop Festival, ArchiPol released a new opus in September 2023, opening a new chapter in his music and which he is presenting through a European mini-tour (Paris, London, Amsterdam).

His new album, ‘Au naturel’, has been entirely recorded on magnetic band, with crystal-clear sound for each acoustic instrument, paying tribute to the shape and harmonic qualities of old-time records. Each song on it is like an island, with its own specific fauna, flora and atmosphere. Yet they all speak of the light and darkness of human love: happy topics next to somber (sometimes tragic) ones, but always on rhythmical and dancing tunes.

Long story short, ArchiPol adds a bittersweet twist to his French chanson.
